Diana's
Drum corporate workshops combine the vibrant rhythms of
Africa and Middle East with HealthRHYTHMS®
group empowerment drumming to maximize the benefits to participants.
HealthRHYTHMS®
is a science-based therapeutic drumming approach developed by
neurologist Dr. Barry Bittman. HealthRHYTHMS® has been proven
to effectively create group unity; to empower individuals and groups;
to increase motivation and to decrease stress. But mostly, HealthRHYTHMS®
sessions are powerful and fun.
A much-published study which appeared in the 2004
fall/winter issue of Advances in Mind-Body Medicine showed
that group drumming decreased burnout and stress. Participants in
the study experienced nearly 50% improvement in mood, including
a decrease in feelings of fatigue, anxiety and depression.
One element of the drum session incorporates targeted questions.
These are answered non-verbally, using only the instruments. This
allows participants to feel heard, supported and able to freely
express themselves in a safe environment.
Workshops are designed and customized by Zoë
Kessler, Head Facilitator and Owner of Diana's Drum.
Ms. Kessler will consult with you to target your session to meet
your organization's needs and goals.

We had never tried an intervention such as this in the
past and were not certain how it would be received by our
staff. This drumming workshop was readily embraced by the
nursing staff in attendance.
Two different evaluations were collected from participants
at the end of the workshop. All evaluations were favorable.
Comments included "the experience of drumming and dancing
released my tight muscles", "good way to release
stress", "great team building exercise",
"loved having fun with peers", "sociable
and safe environment".
Most participants felt that the workshop exceeded their
expectations and they would welcome the chance to participate
in another workshop like this one. Zoë made the entire
experience from planning to intervention a delight.
